Sisoulith is on a visit to Viet Nam to attend the inauguration of wharf No.3 at Vung Ang port in Ha Tinh Province and the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30).

Luong said that the wharf serves as a vivid symbol for the faithful relationship between Viet Nam and Laos.

The Vietnamese leader expressed his belief that the new port facility will meet the growing transport needs of both nations, facilitate transit cargo, and support trade cooperation with Laos, thereby contributing to each country's economic development and integration.

He took the occasion to thank Laos for standing shoulder to shoulder with Viet Nam, sharing both hardships and successes, and wholeheartedly supporting Viet Nam's struggle for independence in the past and in nation-building efforts today.

Sisoulith, for his part, reiterated that Viet Nam's April 30 victory represents a significant triumph for revolutionary forces worldwide as it is the glorious victory not only for Viet Nam but for all three Indochinese countries.

He congratulated Viet Nam on its significant comprehensive achievements it has attained over the 50 years since the liberation of the South and national reunification.

He expressed his belief that the Party, State, and people of Viet Nam will achieve even greater successes and steadily advance into a new era of national development.

The Lao leader said the port stands as a symbol of Viet Nam–Laos friendship in the new era, adding that it serves as a model of strategic cooperation with special significance in political, economic, defense, and security terms./.
