Speaking at the ministry's press briefing in Ha Noi, Pham said General Secretary and President To Lam had sent a message of sympathy to Acting President of Venezuela Delcy Eloina Rodriguez Gomez over the earthquake, which caused significant human and material losses.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung, who recently paid an official visit to Venezuela, also conveyed his condolences directly to the Venezuelan side.
"Based on the traditional friendship between the two countries, Viet Nam is ready to provide appropriate support to Venezuela," said the Spokesperson.
According to the Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela, Vietnamese citizens living, studying and working in the country remain safe. The embassy is closely coordinating with local authorities and monitoring the situation to promptly implement citizen protection measures should any Vietnamese nationals be affected.

Also at the press briefing, Pham updated the media on a recent fire at Moscow's Sadovod trade center that affected several Vietnamese-owned businesses.
She said officials from the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia travelled to the scene immediately after the incident broke out and worked with the trade center's management board to assess the damage and assist affected traders.
So far, Vietnamese business owners have been assisted to resume their commercial activities, she added./.
