South Korea's biggest low-cost carrier resumes air routes to Viet Nam
VGP - Jeju Air Co., the biggest low-cost carrier of the Republic of Korea (RoK), said Monday it will resume many of its flights to Viet Nam in April after a three-years hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Specifically, Jeju Air plans to resume services on the routes from Incheon to Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City on April 20, the company said in a statement.
The budget carrier operated eight routes to five Vietnamese cities including Da Nang, Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa
Most of the routes were suspended in early 2020, when the pandemic hit the airline industry.
In June last year, the company resumed the routes from Incheon to Da Nang and Nha Trang, and the Busan-Da Nang route.
Official statistics showed that Viet Nam recorded 3.66 million foreign tourist arrivals last year, and those from the RoK accounted for the largest proportion with over 965,000, or 26.4 percent.
In December alone, the RoK was also among Viet Nam's tourist markets reporting impressive growth with 39.7 percent, along with Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.
The results are attributed to Viet Nam's efforts to organize a wide range of promotion activities and events in the East Asian nation, right after Viet Nam fully reopened its door in March 2022, including the Viet Nam Culture-Tourism Festivals in Seoul and Gwangju cities.
In December 2022, the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) and the Korea Tourism Organization signed a Memorandum of Understanding on promoting tourism cooperation between the two countries.
