The event drew the participation of around 13,000 people.
It began with the flag-raising ceremony, accompanied by a 21-gun salute conducted by the ceremonial artillery team at Bach Dang Wharf, District 1.
The rehearsal featured 25 military and militia formations, 17 police formations, and 12 formations of mass organizations.
The military parade rehearsal also included formations from the armies of China, Laos, and Cambodia. This marks the first time Viet Nam hosted a national-level military parade with the participation of foreign armed forces.
The official national-level celebration and a military-civilian parade celebrating the 50th anniversary will begin at 6:30 am on April 30 along Le Duan Street and key city routes in Ho Chi Minh City./.
