Mover than 13,000 people will join the parade, Vice Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City Municipal People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy said Monday.

Other activities will be held on the occasion, including the firing of 21 cannon salutes accompanied by the national anthem of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam; a flyover by the air force; a march featuring model vehicles displaying the national emblem, the Party flag, the national flag, a vehicle carrying the portrait of President Ho Chi Minh; and a model vehicle symbolizing the 50th anniversary of the national reunification.

On April 1, Deputy Minister of National Defense Hoang Xuan Chien held a meeting with the Defense Attachés of China, Laos, and Cambodia in Viet Nam. He invited the three countries to send military personnel to participate in the parade.

The Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense would soon send official invitations to the defense ministers of China, Laos, and Cambodia to attend the anniversary celebration, he shared.

April 30, 1975 was a historic moment for Vietnamese people and all developing nations around the world. The great victory of April 30, 1975, is the result of the heroic, resilient, and indomitable struggle of the Vietnamese people. It therefore belongs to all Vietnamese people, the Party, and President Ho Chi Minh, along with support and assistance from international friends, as well as progressive and peace-loving forces across the globe.

Viet Nam has been undertaking the policy of Doi Moi (Renewal), national industrialization, modernization, and international integration with numerous challenges and difficulties to be addressed.

Despite complicated and unpredictable developments regionally and internationally, the stature, significance and value of the April 30, 1975, victory will last forever. That presents both pride and motivation for the country, whilst leaving a valuable experience for the present cause of national construction and defense./.
