The diplomat highlighted the significance of the visit, which is expected to further promote opportunities for international cooperation, including cooperation with Russia, in order to support Viet Nam's development in the coming period.

It is the first visit by a senior leader of Viet Nam following the successful organization of the 14th National Party Congress, he said, adding that the visit marks the beginning of a series of important events and high-level engagements between the two countries in 2026.

According to the Ambassador, meetings between leaders of both countries will play an extremely important role— as both sides not only review bilateral relations, but also set major directions for the development of the bilateral ties in 2026 and the years beyond.

Viet Nam will continue maintaining and enhancing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Russia in the fields of security, defense, and foreign affairs, stated Dang, adding that the two countries regard each other as important partners and support one another at international and regional forums, thereby contributing to a peaceful environment for domestic development.

In terms of economic and trade cooperation, all high-level visits between the two sides aim to make bilateral cooperation more effective and substantive.

During this visit, a series of important agreements related to nuclear power plant projects, as well as cooperation in energy and oil and gas will be signed.

The Ambassador noted that Viet Nam considers Russia a strategic partner in ensuring energy security for the country. Cooperation in oil and gas energy will be reinforced in all fields of trade, exploration, extraction, and human resource training.

Another key area is cooperation in infrastructure development, science and technology, education and training, as well as culture and art as Russia has extensive experience in infrastructure development, particularly in metro and subway systems, shared the diplomat.

The Ambassador expressed his delight at the close cooperation between educational institutions of both sides. In 2025, more than 3,500 Vietnamese candidates applied for 1,000 scholarships, showing growing interest in Russsian education system.

Last year, 690,000 Russian visitors travelled to Viet Nam, almost doubling that in 2024. In the first two months of this year, the figure exceeded 240,000.

Dang expressed his hope that the Government leader's upcoming visit to Russia will significantly promote bilateral cooperation across multiple areas and address both long-term strategic issues and urgent current challenges, such as energy security./.
