The Prime Minister highly appreciated HP's investment cooperation activities and its practical, effective contributions to Viet Nam's economic development and the relations between Viet Nam and the U.S.

He noted that Viet Nam is striving for a growth rate of 8 percent in 2025 and double-digit growth in the following years, aiming to become a developing country with a modern industrial base and upper-middle income by 2030, and a developed, high-income country by 2045.

Pham affirmed that the Vietnamese Government is committed to creating all favorable conditions, including institutional reforms, to ensure effective investment and business operations for foreign investors in general, including those from the U.S.

Regarding ongoing tariff negotiations with the U.S., the Prime Minister stated that Viet Nam is building an independent and self-reliant economy closely linked with proactive, extensive, substantive, and effective international integration. The country encourages technology transfer, local production, and the use of Vietnamese labor, materials, and components.

He called on HP to expand its investments and encourage other enterprises and partners to invest in Viet Nam, especially in priority areas with great potential for cooperation, such as high technology, sustainable development, and artificial intelligence. He also suggested that HP advocate for tariff policies from the U.S. side that are mutually beneficial.

In reply, the HP Vice President expressed confidence that Viet Nam and the U.S. would find a mutually beneficial solution regarding tariffs, and affirmed HP's support for Viet Nam throughout the negotiation process.

Colin congratulated Viet Nam on its impressive economic growth and acknowledged the country's strong efforts in improving the investment and business environment, creating opportunities to enhance national competitiveness. He noted that HP's factory in Viet Nam will come into operation in the next six months.

Currently, HP has partnered with over 40 suppliers in Viet Nam and aims to expand its production capacity in the country with an investment scale of between US$2-3 billion.

Antoine Colin reaffirmed HP's strategy and goal to build an ecosystem and supply chain in Viet Nam and the region to adapt to the new global context; to invest more in Viet Nam at a faster pace; and to further promote exchanges, technology transfer, and innovation.

He further elaborated on the ecosystem HP aims to build in Viet Nam, highlighting synchronized elements such as infrastructure, technology, the use of local workforce and components, and a flexible supply chain. HP plans to significantly increase the production volume of personal computers and printers in Viet Nam, and expand into new products, new technologies, and AI-integrated applications such as AI-powered laptops./.
