The Government chief made the request while addressing a meeting with businessmen in Ha Noi on the occasion of the Viet Nam Entrepreneurs Day (October 13, 2004-2024).

The day is a good chance to honour entrepreneurs and encourage them to make more contributions to the country.

The Party, State, and Government said the Prime Minister always welcome and support Vietnamese businesspeople that have played a key and pioneering role in spurring socio-economic development, and advancing the country's reputation and position in the international arena.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham suggested Vietnamese enterprsies and firms to undertake five pioneering roles.

Firstly, the contingent of Vietnamese businessmen should play a role in accelerating the implementation of three strategic breakthroughs (institutions, infrastructure and human resources) especially breakthrough in building socialist-oriented market economy institutions.

Secondly, businessmen should optimize opportunities generated by the Fourth Industrial Revolution, innovate traditional growth impetuses (investment, export and consumption), accelerate new growth driving forces (digital economy, green economy, circular economy and so on).

Thirdly, businessmen and enterprises should contribute to stabilizing the macro-economy, control inflation, prioritize growth, ensure major balances of the economy.

Fourthly, they should build modern corporate governance to contribute to improving the country's governance capacity in a smart direction.

Finally, businessmen should take social responsibility, play a more active role in ensuring social welfare, and continue their support to disadvantaged groups, as well as those in remote, border, and island areas./.
