Prime Minister Pham thanked Fadillah for travelling to Viet Nam to attend the funeral, saying the move is a clear evidence of the strategic partnership, friendship and solidarity between leaders and people of the two countries.
Pham also extended sincere thanks to Malaysian leaders for their messages of condolences, affirming Viet Nam treasures the good affections of the Government and people of Malaysia for Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong who devoted his life to the cause of national construction and development as well as to the advancement of relations with ASEAN Member States in general and Malaysia in particular.
On behalf of the Prime Minister and his Cabinet and people of Malaysia, Fadillah conveyed the deepest condolences to Vietnamese leaders, people and family of the deceased.
Fadillah showed his admiration for Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's tireless efforts and contributions to the national construction and development cause in Viet Nam over the past decades, affirming that the Party General Secretary is a friend of Malaysia and other ASEAN Member States.
Prime Minister Pham voiced his support for Malaysia to successfully undertake its role as ASEAN Chair in 2025 while the Malaysian side agreed that both countries should boost cooperation in such fields like green energy, clean energy, and renewable energy, digital transformation, electronic chip manufacturing, and artificial intelligence.
Both sides agreed to double efforts to raise the two-way trade to US$18 billion in the near future and to coordinate closely in building the ASEAN Community of sustainable development and maintaining ASEAN centrality in addressing strategic issues in the region and the world, including the East Sea issue./.
