The Government leader on October 3 hosted a reception for Mission Chief to Viet Nam and Division Chief in the IMF's Asia and Pacific Department Era Dabla-Norris who is on a working visit to Viet Nam.
Pham expressed thanks to valuable assistance of the IMF for Viet Nam over the recent years, particularly in terms of policy making, technical support and human resource training as well as analysis, evaluation and recommendations for the nation in economic monitoring during COVID-19 outbreaks.
Viet Nam welcomes the IMF's approval of a new mechanism for low-condition emergency loans to help vulnerable countries cope with food shortages and rising costs, said the PM.
The nation consistently follows its targets to contain inflation, stabilize macro-economy, promote growth, ensure balance of the economy, implement effective and flexible monetary policy in harmony with monitoring fiscal policy, emphasized Pham.
He pledged to develop real estate, capital, labor, science and technology markets towards sustainable, healthy and safe manner as well as restructure and diversify markets, products and supply chains.
For her part, Era Dabla-Norris congratulated the Vietnamese Government on its socio-economic performance in 2022 and the previous years.
She spoke highly of the nation's monetary and fiscal policies and its stable implementation of socio-economic recovery and development program.
IMF forecasted that Viet Nam's economy will expand at around 7-7.5 percent in 2022 and keep inflation lower than the ceiling target of 4 percent, she said.
