The visit will be made at the invitation of Korean Prime Minister Han Duck-soo and his spouse, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced Thursday.
Viet Nam and South Korea set up diplomatic relations on December 22, 1992, and upgraded their relationship to a Strategic Cooperative Partnership in October 2009 and a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in December 2022.
South Korea is Viet Nam’s largest foreign investor, second largest development aid provider, and third largest labor and trade partner.
Two-way trade turnover reached US$76.1 billion in 2023 and US$25.5 billion in the first four months this year, up 4 percent from 2023.
As of April 2024, South Korea had 9,957 projects in Viet Nam, with a total registered capital of more than US$87 billion.
Approximately 3.6 million Korean tourists visited Viet Nam last year, while more than 500,000 Vietnamese travelers selected the Northeast Asian nation as it iss one of their favorite destinations./.
