After landing in Viet Nam, Xavier Bettel and his entourage left for a trip to World Heritage Site Ha Long Bay in northeastern Quang Ninh province. about 170 km from Ha Noi capital.
On May 4, Prime Minister Pham is set to host an official welcome for and hold talks with Bettel at the Presidential Palace and the Government headquarters, respectively.
The two Prime Ministers will witness the signing ceremony of some cooperation agreements between their countries' ministries and sectors and co-chair a press conference.
Prior to the welcome ceremony, Xavier Bettel will pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh - the founder and leader of the Vietnamese communist movement and visit the monument to Vietnamese heroes and martyrs and the memorial site dedicated to President Ho Chi Minh.
The two Prime Ministers will visit the Temple of Literature considered as the first university in Viet Nam and the Viet Nam Fine Arts Museum.
In addition, Prime Minister Bettel will meet with National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and take part in some activities in Ho Chi Minh City, including a Viet Nam - Luxembourg business forum and a meeting with the city's leaders.
Viet Nam and Luxembourg established diplomatic ties on November 15, 1973.

In 2022, the two-way trade turnover reached US$187.1 million, representing a year-on-year increase of 69 percent. Specifically, Viet Nam exported US$ 130.14 million of goods and imported US$ 56.96 million from the European country.
During Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's official visit to Luxembourg in December last year, the two sides inked a memorandum of understanding on promoting trade and business dialogue between the Viet Nam Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, along with a cooperation deal between the Viet Nam Stock Exchange and the Luxembourg Stock Exchange./.
