Prime Minister meets world's leaders on 78th UNGA session sidelines

At his meeting with the President of Slovenia, Prime Minister Pham affirmed that Viet Nam always values and wishes to strengthen traditional friendly relations with Slovenia.

The Prime Minister proposed that the two sides promote delegation exchange at all levels, especially in 2024, when the two countries celebrate 30 years of establishing diplomatic relations and effectively implement the Viet Nam-EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).

For her part, Slovenian President Natasa Pirc Musar positively acknowledged Prime Minister Pham's proposals and affirmed that Slovenia always considers Viet Nam one of its priority partners in Southeast Asia.

Slovenia will promote multifaceted cooperation with Viet Nam and propose that the two sides strengthen cooperation in several potential fields such as labor, science and technology, water resource protection, pharmaceuticals, and environmental protection, she said.

During the meeting with the Finnish President, the Prime Minister suggested that the two countries continue promoting trade and investment cooperation to create more momentum to develop bilateral relations.

Besides, the Vietnamese leader wants to expand export of agricultural products, footwear, textiles and other goods to the Finnish market.

The Finnish President highly appreciated the recent development of cooperative relations between the two countries, especially in the context of the Viet Nam-EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) being implemented.

Meeting with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis, Prime Minister Pham affirmed that Viet Nam greatly values the traditional friendly cooperative relationship with Romania over the past more than 70 years.

He expressed his belief that the two sides need to continue advancing cooperation in labor and education and training, which are traditional areas of collaboration in which both countries have needs and strengths.

At the same time, the two countries need to cooperate and share experiences on sustainable management of the Mekong Delta and Danube River, Pham said.

For his part, Iohannis affirmed that Romania would further promote cooperation with Viet Nam, especially in economy, trade, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges, to match the momentum of developing relations between the two countries.

On this occasion, Pham urged Romania to soon complete the ratification of the Viet Nam-EU Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and have a positive voice for the European Commission (EC) to soon remove the IUU "yellow card" against Vietnamese seafood exports./.
