Prime Minister meets South Korea President in Japan
VGP – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Friday met with President of South Korea Yoon Suk Yeol in Hiroshima, Japan as the pair arrived there for the G7 summit and outreach meetings with invited countries and international organizations.

Prime Minister Pham expressed his pleasure at the outstanding achievements in the Viet Nam-South Korea diplomatic relations established in 1992, including the elevation of the bilateral ties to comprehensive strategic partnership.
Pham affirmed that Viet Nam and South Korea share many strategic interests as well as common positions on various regional and international issues such as upholding international law and multilateralism.
In pursuance of its foreign policy, Viet Nam unwaveringly attaches importance to the relationship with South Korea, assured Prime Minister, expressing his wish to collaborate with South Korea to further deepen the bilateral ties, in which economic and trade cooperation is a key pillar while political trust is the foundation, contributing to peace and prosperity in the region and the world.
He briefed the Korean President about Viet Nam's major development orientations and called on South Korea to assist Viet Nam in five priorities namely capital, technology, human resources, institutional building, and governance.
He urged the two countries to double efforts to soon realize the goal of raising the two-way trade to US$150 billion by 2030 in a balanced and healthy manner.
Pham welcomed Korean investors to pour investment capital into Viet Nam's mega infrastructure development projects, pledging to continue creating favorable conditions for Korean enterprises to do business in Viet Nam.
President Yoon affirmed that his country treasures the relationship with Viet Nam, regarding the Southeast Asian nation one of the top partners in the region.
The two leaders committed to taking practical measures to assist Vietnamese and Korean expat communities to live and work in respective countries.
Both sides agreed to continue exchanges and coordination over regional and international issues of shared interests at multilateral mechanisms and international organizations, thus contributing to ensuring peace, stability, cooperation and development around the world.
