Prime Minister meets Chinese Party leader, President Xi Jinping in Russia

Pham congratulated on the great achievements of historic significance gained by China over the past 75 years.

He affirmed that Viet Nam consistently regards the development of relations with China an objective requirement, a strategic choice, and a top priority in its foreign policy.

Pham spoke highly of China's significant contributions to the BRICS mechanism and reassured Viet Nam's readiness to actively cooperate with BRICS member countries to further enhance the role of developing nations in addressing global peace and development issues.

The Prime Minister highly valued the continuous development in the relations between the two Parties and two countries, calling on the two sides to continue enhancing high-level exchanges and contacts and promoting substantial cooperation in various areas, particularly in transportation connectivity.

He emphasized the need to accelerate the implementation of three standard gauge, high-speed railway projects (Lao Cai-Ha Noi-Hai Phong, Lang Son-Ha Noi, Mong Cai-Ha Long-Hai Phong) in a bid to further strengthen connectivity between the two economies.

Pham also suggested both nations work together to organize activities to commemorate the 75th founding anniversary of diplomatic relations and the Viet Nam-China Humanistic Exchange Year in 2025.

Xi, for his part, extended his greetings to General Secretary To Lam and other senior leaders of Viet Nam. He congratulated Comrade Luong Cuong upon his election as the President of Viet Nam and praised the achievements Viet Nam has made in all areas, particularly in socio-economic development.

He expressed his delight at the increasingly substantive and effective development of the Viet Nam-China relations.

The Chinese leader highlighted the significance of promoting the relationship under the spirit of "4 Goods" and the high-level common perceptions.

He expressed his willingness to maintain strategic exchanges with Viet Nam and to further deepen substantive cooperation, continuously advancing the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and a Viet Nam-China Community with a shared future of strategic significance towards a more effective manner.

To enhance connectivity between the two economies, Xi said that he would direct the relevant Chinese agencies to promote transportation connectivity between Viet Nam and China./.
