Prime Minister Le welcomed the American business leaders to Viet Nam, which serves as vivid proof of their deep interest in the Vietnamese market as well as the increasingly extensive opportunities for economic-trade-investment cooperation between the two countries.
He said that Viet Nam is striving for rapid yet more sustainable development, comprehensively improving the people's living standards, strengthening strategic autonomy, while boldly transforming the growth model based on science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, or a shift from breadth to depth, from reliance on resources and labor to reliance on knowledge, technology, and productivity.
Le affirmed Viet Nam is committed to deepening international integration, maximizing external resources to serve development objectives while implementing special preferential mechanisms and policies, and removing barriers and obstacles to create favorable conditions for foreign businesses to invest and operate effectively in the country.

The Prime Minister reassured that Viet Nam consistently regards the U.S. as one of its top important partners and desires to advance the Viet Nam-U.S. Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in a healthy, stable, and sustainable manner, for the benefit of the people and businesses of both countries, contributing to peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and the world.
In the context of the rapidly and complexly evolving global and regional landscape, the Prime Minister was pleased to note that Viet Nam-U.S. relations continue to develop strongly, substantively, and effectively.
Notably, the meeting between General Secretary and President of Viet Nam To Lam and U.S. President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the opening session of the Gaza Peace Council in the U.S. has further consolidated the momentum for bilateral cooperation across sectors, particularly in economy-trade-investment, science and technology, and innovation, he noted.
The Prime Minister suggested that USABC and American businesses continue to leverage their roles and influence to convey Viet Nam's message of goodwill and cooperation efforts so that the two countries would soon reach a reciprocal, fair, and balanced trade agreement.
He also urged the U.S. side to promptly consider full market economy status for Viet Nam and soon remove Viet Nam from the list of export-restricted countries (D1-D3).

Le took the occasion to emphasize that the Vietnamese Government supports and welcomes leading U.S. energy corporations and businesses to invest in Viet Nam, contributing to ensuring national energy security and developing an equitable, transparent, and efficient energy market.
Regarding science-technology cooperation—a new pillar in bilateral relations, Viet Nam is ready to create conditions for capable American telecommunications businesses to access the market for research, investment, technology transfer, and development of telecommunications infrastructure, 5G, and submarine fiber optic cables in Viet Nam, on the basis of ensuring national security and complying with Viet Nam's legal framework.
Noting that the Ministry of Science and Technology granted a license for Starlink last February to provide satellite Internet services in Viet Nam, the Prime Minister proposed that U.S. businesses strengthen cooperation with Vietnamese enterprises, implement technology transfers—especially core technologies—and support Viet Nam in integrating more deeply into regional and global value chains.
The Prime Minister also proposed that USABC and American businesses, with their influence, accompany the Vietnamese Government in successfully organizing APEC 2027, creating momentum for Viet Nam to continue opening its market, attracting investment, transferring technology, and enhancing the competitiveness of its economy.
Since normalization of diplomatic relations, economic-trade-investment relations between the two countries have continued to develop positively. The U.S. remains Viet Nam's largest export market.
Bilateral trade turnover reached US$209.5 billion in 2025, with U.S. exports to Viet Nam exceeding US$19 billion USD, up 28 percent from 2024. Vietnamese businesses have signed contracts to purchase U.S. aircraft and equipment worth more than US$37 billion./.
