The Prime Minister underscored that the Vietnamese Government and people treasure the Viet Nam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership and friendship.

Viet Nam expects to further enhance cooperation with Russia in various areas, both bilaterally and multilaterally, for the mutual benefit and for peace, stability, and development in the region and the world, stressed Pham.

Pham said he has directed ministries and agencies to cooperate with the Russian side to continue bolstering collaboration in traditional areas such as petrol production, industry, agriculture, education-training, culture-tourism, and science-technology.

He emphasized the need to actively realize bilateral cooperation agreements, especially the outcomes of the 24th meeting of the Viet Nam-Russia Inter-governmental Committee.

For his part, Volodin spoke highly of Viet Nam's increasingly important role and position in the region and the world, and affirmed that the Southeast Asian nation is one of Russia's top priority partners in the Asia-Pacific region.

Both sides pledged to actively exchange information to overcome challenges and create favorable conditions for Vietnamese goods to access the Russian market and highlighted the potential for new cooperation areas, such as digital transformation, green energy, and infrastructure development.

They welcomed the opening of a direct air route between Ha Noi and Irkutsk in June this year and the recent signing of a protocol amending government agreements on oil and gas cooperation earlier this month.

The two sides spoke highly of the two countries' cooperation within the multilateral forums, especially the United Nations, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum and the ASEAN-Russia cooperation mechanism.

The two nations agreed to continue close coordination at international forums and organizations, uphold multilateralism and back the resolution of disputes by peaceful means based on international law./.
