Sivak is paying a working visit to Viet Nam to co-chair the 16th session of the Viet Nam-Belarus Intergovernmental Committee on Economic, Trade, and Scientific-Technical Cooperation and to attend the Viet Nam EXPO 2025 exhibition and the Viet Nam-Belarus Business Forum in Ha Noi.
Pham suggested that both sides continue to enhance delegation exchanges, particularly at high level, and strengthen ties at multilateral forums.
He urged both countries to make greater efforts to promote bilateral economic and trade cooperation, which remain modest compared to their potential and strengths, while facilitating investment cooperation between their businesses.
He also underscored the importance of effectively maintaining the Intergovernmental Committee mechanism and developing a concrete action plan with more suitable and effective approaches.
Pham called on the two countries to bolster collaboration in various other fields, including security and defense, information technology and digital transformation, clean energy, agriculture, education and culture while enhance cultural exchanges and people-to-people interactions to deepen mutual understandings.
Education and training is a traditional area of cooperation, noted the Vietnamese leader, suggesting both sides increase scholarship exchanges, particularly in fundamental sciences, arts, and the training of high-quality human resources.
He also suggested the two countries step up coordination in automobile manufacturing, agricultural machinery production, and railway development.
Sivak, for his side, spoke highly of Viet Nam's role in Southeast Asia and the Asia-Pacific region, adding that senior Belarusian leadership stands ready to promote cooperation with Viet Nam across multiple fields for sustainable development and interests of their peoples.
Belarusian people view Viet Nam as a friendly country with deep historical ties and wish to strengthen tourism ties with Viet Nam, told the guest.
Both sides pledged to direct their ministries, localities, and businesses to actively implement the agreements reached during recent high-level visits and meetings between their leaders./.
