The Government leader made the above remarks while chairing the Cabinet meeting with localities which was held in form of teleconference on Saturday.
The Vietnamese economy expanded by 9.95 percent year-on-year in the third quarter of this year, compared to 8.15 percent and 8.81 percent in the first and second quarters, respectively.
Overall, the economy grew 9.01 percent year-on-year during January-September, with industry-construction and services respectively accounting for 45 percent and 49.6 percent.
The Government chief hailed the efforts of localities, particularly those that recorded outstanding growth in the third quarter and contributed to the country's nine-month growth, including Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh, Ninh Binh, Khanh Hoa, Thai Nguyen, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Ngai, Can Tho, Tay Ninh, Dien Bien and Lai Chau.
This year's growth goal is a very challenging task, requiring ministries, sectors, and localities to demonstrate the highest level of determination and effort, shared Le.
Efforts must be made to keep inflation in 2026 at the targeted level, while ensuring that high economic growth serves the interests of the people, underlined the Prime Minister.
He called for a strong focus on developing the domestic market, stimulating demand, and effectively capitalizing on the year-end consumption and tourism season, while closely controlling and stabilizing prices.
He also urged subordinate levels to double efforts to boost exports, reduce the trade deficit, promote new growth drivers, encourage private investment, and attract foreign investment. Corporations and State-owned corporations were required to complete their investment, production and business plans.
Strict control over prices must be maintained, with efforts to ensure adequate supplies of essential goods such as petroleum, electricity, food, construction materials and medicines, while intensifying inspections and strictly handling stockpiling, speculation and smuggling, stated Le./.
