The Prime Minister attended and delivered a speech at the WEF's Country Strategic Dialogue on Viet Nam in Tianjin, China, on June 26.
The event attracted the participation of founder and Executive Chairman of the WEF Prof. Klaus Schwab, WEF President Borge Brende and leaders from 50 global corporations which are members of the WEF.
Speaking at the dialogue, Pham said that Viet Nam effectively responds to external risks and challenges, maintains macro-economic stability, controls inflation, ensures big balances, boosts growth and firmly consolidates national defense and security, and a peaceful and stable environment for development.
The country is renewing its growth model, restructuring the economy, promoting innovation and digital transformation, accelerating energy transformation, developing green economy, fostering the development of high-quality human resources and building modern and synchronous infrastructure, he noted.
Many businesses spoke highly of the Vietnamese Government's advocate for the business community and policies to tackle difficulties for enterprises, adding that Viet Nam is an investment destination for them to seek for long-term cooperation.
On the same day, the PM met Robert H. McCooey, Jr., Vice Chairman of Nasdaq–a US-based multinational financial services corporation.
Lauding Nasdaq's support for Vietnamese businesses, Pham hoped that the company can inform Viet Nam about monetary policies of major countries, global financial market trends, and experience to help develop its domestic capital market.
He also looks forward to Nasdaq further accompanying the development of Vietnamese enterprises.
McCooey commended the financial and monetary management policies of the Vietnamese Government, committing to supporting Vietnamese firms in expanding their global reach./.
