Nguyen is one of around 700 foreign delegates representing 218 countries, territories, and international organizations gathering for the event.
He expressed great sorrow and deep sympathy to the Liberal Democratic Party, the Government, parliament and people of Japan as well as family members of late Prime Minister Abe.
He thanked for Abe’s warm sentiments towards Viet Nam and his important contributions to the Viet Nam-Japan relations during eight years he served as Prime Minister of Japan, leaving deep imprints in all fields, from economic cooperation, investment and trade to labor and people-to-people exchange.
Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio and Abe’s spouse Abe Akie showed their gratitude to the Vietnamese President and delegation for their participation in the state funeral, which they said is a special acknowledgement of the late Prime Minister’s sentiment and contribution to the Viet Nam-Japan relationship.
The presence of the Vietnamese delegation at the funeral also demonstrates the importance that the Vietnamese Party, State and people have given to the Japan-Viet Nam extensive strategic partnership, they said./.
