The two leaders expressed their pleasure at the current status of the Viet Nam-South Korea relationship and agreed to continue regular exchange of delegations and contacts at all levels.
Both sides agreed to timely inform each other about the situation in respective countries and to exchange views on regional and international issues of common concern.
The two leaders agreed to further promote economic cooperation to raise the two-way trade to US$100 billion in the time to come and US$150 billion by 2030 in a balanced manner.
Viet Nam and South Korea have become each other's trusted partners in various fields, including politics, trade, culture and people-to-people exchanges, noted President Luong, affirming that Viet Nam always attaches importance to the relationship with South Korea.
Luong conveyed the greetings from General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man to President Yoon Suk Yeol and other senior Korean leaders.
Yoon congratulated Luong on his new role as President of Viet Nam, reassuring that Viet Nam remains a key partner in South Korea's Korea-ASEAN Solidarity Initiative and the Indo-Pacific Strategy.
South Korea will assist Viet Nam in training high-quality workforce, building research and development centers, and promoting businesses' participation in global supply chains led by Korean business giants, said Yoon.
He also promised to provide ODA with special preferential conditions for Viet Nam to implement strategic infrastructure development, climate change adaptation, green conversion, and energy transition projects.
The two sides agreed to continue close coordination in international and regional issues of mutual concern, and mutual support at multilateral mechanisms and international organizations.
Regarding the East Sea issue, both sides underscored the importance of maintaining peace, stability, security, safety and freedom of navigation and aviation in the East Sea, and settling disputes through peaceful measures in line with international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
On the occasion, President Luong invited President Yoon to visit Viet Nam and extended thanks to President Yoon for inviting him to visit South Korea. Both sides agreed to arrange the visits through diplomatic channel./.
