PM Pham Minh Chinh attends "Homeland Spring" in Czech Republic

VGP – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended "Homeland Spring" program 2025 in Prague, the Czech Republic on January 19 (local time) as part of his ongoing official visit to the European country.

The program was held by the Embassy of Viet Nam in collaboration with the Union of Vietnamese Organizations in the Czech Republic to help overseas Vietnamese nationals to preserve the cultural traits while living abroad and contribute to national development.

Addressing the event, Prime Minister Pham briefed about recent developments in the homeland, remarkably the country's GDP expanded 7.09 percent and the GDP per capital reached US$476 billion in 2024.

Viet Nam has established diplomatic relations with 194 countries around the world, of which 32 countries are strategic and comprehensive partners, Pham said.

The Prime Minister appreciated significant contributions of overseas Vietnamese to the national development process, reiterating that overseas Vietnamese community is an "indispensible part" and an "important resource" of the Vietnamese nation.

He took the occasion to called on overseas Vietnamese, including those living and working in the Czech Republic to continue contributions to help the Fatherland to achieve goals for 2025, for 2030 when the country marks the 100th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, and for 2045 when the country celebrates the 100th founding anniversary of the nation.

The Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic currently has about 100,000 people, the 3rd largest ethnic minority community in the Czech Republic and also the 3rd largest Vietnamese community in Europe, according to Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Duong Hoai Nam.

The Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic is considered to be industrious and hard-working, actively contributing to the development of the host country and bilateral relations, being one of the Vietnamese communities in the world./.
