The General Statistics Office (GSO) reported that in July, 14,700 new enterprises were established with a total registered capital of VND110 trillion, generating 88,400 jobs.
Meanwhile, about 44,300 businesses resumed operations in July, an increase of 4.7 percent year on year, bringing the total number of newly-established businesses and firms returning to operation in January-July period to 139,500, up 5.8 percent over 2023.
Over 35,500 businesses stopped operations to wait for dissolution procedures, down 1.5 percent.
Earlier, in 2023, business registrations were a bright spot in the overall landscape of Viet Nam’s economy, with nearly 160,000 new enterprises being established, an increase of 7.2 percent compared to 2022./.
