Over 54% of Japanese enterprises in Viet Nam predicted to make profit in 2023
VGP - The percentage of Japanese enterprises operating in Viet Nam forecast to be profitable in 2023 is 54.3 percent.
The figure is part of a survey on Japanese investment in Asia and Oceania 2023 by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) in Viet Nam.
Regarding prospects in 2024, 50.4 percent of the surveyed Japanese businesses answered "improved", while 8.3 percent answered "worse" in terms of business profit prospects compared to 2023.
A number of Japanese enterprises expressed their hope for improvements thanks to the economic recovery in 2023.
Regarding operating profit forecasts for 2023, 32 percent expect their profits to increase from the previous year thanks to export growth and positive results in domestic consumption.
The proportion of Japanese enterprises that intend to expand their investment in Viet Nam in the next one to two years is 56.7 percent.
As for the functions to be expanded, "sales function" accounted for the largest share at 62 percent.
The survey was conducted in 20 countries and territories in Asia and Oceania and received responses from 849 Japanese enterprises operating in Viet Nam./.
