National council for sustainable development set up

Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long shall be Chairrman of the Council and he will be supported by Minister of Planning and Investment as the Vice Chairman.

The council is responsible for assisting the Prime Minister in directing and coordinating relevant parties to implement sustainable development in Viet Nam.

The council is tasked to put foward strategies, mechanisms and policies for sustainable development to the Prime Minister.

It is also tasked to oversee the implementation of global commitments on sustainable development in Viet Nam, including the National action plan to realize the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development./.
