National Assembly’s 5th plenary session concludes

During the 23-day sitting, the Legislature passed eight laws, including the Law on Protection of Consumer Rights (revised); Law on Bidding (revised); Law on Prices (revised); Law on E-Transactions (revised); Law on Cooperatives (revised); and the Law on Civil Defense.

The Law on the amendments and supplementations to a number of articles of the Law on People's Public Security Force and the Law on the amendments and supplementations to a number of articles of the Law on Entry and Exit of Vietnamese Citizens and Foreigners' Entry into, Exit from, Transit through and Residence in Viet Nam were also approved.

The legislatorss alsso adopted three resolutions: Resolution on collection and casting of votes of confidence on persons holding positions elected and approved by the National Assembly and People's Councils; Resolution on piloting typical mechanisms and policies for development in Ho Chi Minh City; and Resolution on the law and ordinance making program for 2024, amending the law and ordinance making program of 2023.

Nine draft laws deliberated by the legislative body were of the Land Law (revised); Law on Real Estate Business (revised); Housing Law (revised); Law on Water Resources (revised); Law on Telecommunications (revised); Law on Management and Protection of National Defense Works and Military Zones; Law on Citizen Identification (revised); Law on Credit Institutions (revised); and the Law on forces safeguarding security and order at the grassroots level.

Legislators highly appreciated the direction and implementation of tasks and solutions by the Government, the Prime Minister, sectors and localities.

Four ministers including Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Minister of Science and Technology, Minister of Transport and Minister and Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs clarified several issues under their competence./.
