The move aims to offer open and convenient working conditions and tackle difficulties in issuance of work permits for foreign workers.

This is part of a report sent to the Prime Minister on amendments to Decree 152/2020/ND-CP regulating the management of foreign workers in Viet Nam and the recruitment and management of Vietnamese working for foreign organisations and individuals in Viet Nam (Decree 152).

Representatives of the Korean, European and American businesses in Viet Nam are complaining that they’re struggling to obtain work permits for their foreign employees due to inconsistent and vague regulations.

Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung said that the Government is working on simplifying the labor law, and that foreign experts and managers will be among the top priorities in drawing up new regulations governing work permit issuance.

Previously, the Government decided to issue e-visas to all foreign arrivals at 52 ports of entry into Viet Nam starting from August 15, according to the latest Resolution No. 127/NQ-CP.

The extension of the e-visa validity period is important for both business travelers and tourists, offering them an enhanced opportunity to fully immerse themselves in Viet Nam’s offerings.

Moreover, this adjustment will facilitate the entry of skilled professionals and experts, making substantial contributions to the growth of Viet Nam’s economy.

In addition to the extended e-visa duration, the National Assembly approved the introduction of multiple-entry visas.

Policymakers anticipate that these decisions will streamline administrative processes, resulting in notable time and cost savings for both the Vietnamese Government and visa applicants.

As by June 2023, 121,000 foreign workers have been working in Viet Nam./.
