Illegal foreign workers to be deported
VGP – Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung has asked localities to tighten management of foreign workers in Viet Nam, including deportation of illegal workers.

In a recent dispatch sent to Chairpersons of People’s Committees of provinces and cities, Dao urged localities to direct functional authorities to consider deporting foreigner workers without work permits or those who fail to comply with current regulations on entry and exit applicable to foreigners.
Localities need to strengthen labor inspection and strictly fine businesses intentionally using illegal workers or violating labor legislation.
He also asked localities to inspect observation of COVID-19 prevention and control measures at business establishments that employ foreign workers.
Local authorities must review and seriously control the issuance of work permits to in accordance with the Labor Code 2019 and the Government’s Decree No. 152/ND-CP dated December 30, 2020, Minister Dao stressed.
The dispatch was issued amid complex evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic and rising number of illegal entrants into Viet Nam.
