More than 25 million students begin new academic year
VGP - Over 25 million Vietnamese students officially began their 2024-2025 academic year on Thursday when schools across 63 localities in the country kickstarted the new school year.

Of the figure, nearly 23.2 million are primary, secondary and high school pupils, according to the Ministry of Education and Training
There are nearly 54,000 educational institutions and almost 1.66 million lecturers, teachers, education managers, and workers across the country, said the ministry.

On this occasion, Party General Secretary and President To Lam sent a letter to the education and training sector, in which he asked the sector to continue its mission of promoting human development and happiness, regarding students as the center, key stakesholders, resources and target of development process, thereby creating a foundation for achieving the goal of wealthy people, a strong country, and a democratic, equal, and civilized society.

The top Vietnamese leader expressed his belief that students and trainees will exert efforts in learning, making self-improvement, acquiring and mastering knowledge, developing core skills, and nurturing big dreams to make the country increasingly prosperous and happy.

On September 4, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh issued a directive requesting the enhancement of coordination among families, schools, and society in the education of children and students, with a particular focus on preventing school violence, crimes, and social evils among students, and ensuring school security and safety.
The Prime Minister demanded effective implementation of projects to develop high-quality human resources, especially in the fields of semiconductor, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing; as well as the strengthened direction, inspection, and monitoring of the implementation of policies and laws related to education and training to prevent any violations in this field./.
