Over 23 million students enter new academic school year
VGP - More than 23 million students nationwide celebrated the official start of the 2022-2023 academic school year on the morning of September 5.
Teachers, students, and parents were gathering for the opening ceremony of the 2022-2023 school year themed ‘Unity, creativity, striving to fulfill well the tasks and goals of innovation, consolidating and improving the quality of education and training.'
On this occasion, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc sent a letter to the education sector reviewing and recognizing the sector’s achievements in the prior academic year.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh urged the Ministry of Education and Training and localities to strictly implement the guidelines and policies of the Party and State on education and training so that education is truly a top national policy during his working trip to the northern province of Phu Tho, during which the Government chief inspected preparations for the new academic year.
The Prime Minister asked localities, the education sector and institutions as well as parents to pay attention to vaccinating children against COVID-19 to ensure safety for them.
Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son sent a message to the sector in which he identified 12 key tasks. The Minister expected all teaching staff to try their best and dedicate themselves to the education sector.
He hoped that all students complete their studies and train themselves to be good citizens and become high-quality human resources for the country.
The 2022-2023 academic year is regarded as the key year in implementing the tasks of the educational reform in general education after the educational sector was heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The opening ceremony of the 2021-2022 school year took place in 57 out of 63 provinces and cities across Viet Nam on September 5, 2021, most of which were organized virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic./.
