Int’l air passenger up 15.4% in first half

During the reviewed period, Vietnamese airlines carried 9.6 million international passengers, up 0.2 percent, accounting for 36.6 percent of total international passengers.

Meanwhile, international air cargo volume reached 706,700 tons, an increase of 21.3 percent compared to the same period last year.

The national flag carrier Vietnamese airlines alone transported 119,000 tons, up 8.6 percent year-on-year, accounting for 16.8 percent. Domestic air cargo volume totaled 216,400 tons, down 7 percent.

Vietnamese airlines are currently operating 109 international routes connecting Viet Nam with 22 countries and territories worldwide. Meanwhile, foreign airlines from 41 countries and territories are operating 235 scheduled routes to Viet Nam./.
