The V2K means vắc-xin (vaccination), khẩu trang (mask) and khử khuẩn (hand washing).

However, the 5K message will be reintroduced if new strain occurs and affects people’s health, the official said.

According to the Ministry of Health, the pandemic has been put under control nationwide. However, COVID-19 is still on the list of Group A infectious diseases, which are extremely dangerous, so measures such as wearing masks and vaccination should not be removed.

Statistics showed that as of late June 5, Viet Nam recorded the lowest number of infections at around 1,000 cases on daily basis over the last 11 months. In addition, over the past week, only one fatality has been confirmed nationwide. Viet Nam has about 40 critically-ill patients.

By June 4, the country had administered 222,023,219 doses of COVID-19 vaccines, including 4,240,666 first doses and 564,465 second doses for children from five to under-12 years old.

Earlier, in 2020, the  ministry officially announced a message featuring 5K (in Vietnamese) Khau trang (facemask)- (Khu khuan) disinfection- (Khoang cach) distance- (Khong tu tap) no gathering – (Khai bao y te) health declaration. The 5K protocol is a "steel shield" to protect people from the Covid-19 pandemic./.
