Gov’t submits North-South high-speed railway project to National Assembly

The US$67 billion project is expected to meet growing transport demand, contribute to sustainably restructuring the transport market share along the North-South corridor, and lay the foundation for socio-economic development while ensuring national defense and security.

The 350kph railway line stretches 1,541 kilometers, connecting 20 cities and provinces.

The Government targets to commence the construction of the railway line in 2025 and complete the whole project by 2035.

Once completed, the railway line will reduce travel time from Ha Noi capital to Ho Chi Minh City to about 5.5 hours./.
