Gov’t orders faster vaccination rollout amidst spike in cases

VGP - Local authorities have been asked to deploy mobile COVID-19 vaccination teams to areas with low vaccination rates in response to rising infections.

This is part of the Prime Minister's Public Telegram No. 755/CD-TTg, dated August 25, 2022 on strengthening COVID-19 prevention measures. 

The Prime Minister assigned local authorities to finalize vaccination rollout plans for people of different targeted groups on schedule.  

Especially, mobile vaccination will be implemented in areas with low vaccination rates in order to provide the second doses for children aged from 5 to under 12 and the third and fourth doses for the adult population. 

The Ministry of Health was tasked to keep a close watch on the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic in the world and evaluate  community immunity in Viet Nam. 

Chairmen of provincial and municipal People’s Committee were urged to craft scenarios, prepare manpower and facilities, stockpile medical supplies for a new wave of infections. 

On August 24, additional 477,728 doses of vaccines were administered, raising the total number of doses of COVID-19 vaccines injected to 255,188,869.

The national COVID-19 caseload rose to 11,396.205 with 3,342 new cases recorded over the past 24 hours to 4pm August 25, according to the Ministry of Health.

With over 12,747 patients given the all clear during the day, the number of recoveries rose to 10,116,927. Meanwhile, there are 139 patients placed on respirators.

Two deaths from COVID-19 were recorded in the past 24 hours. The total fatalities stood at 43,110./.
