PM orders completing vaccination against COVID-19 for children aged 5-11 next month
VGP - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh ordered completing vaccination against COVID-19 for children aged 5 to 11 in August 2022, according to a Public Telegram issued on Monday.
The Public Telegram was issued in the context that Viet Nam has detected new variants of COVID-19 and faces risk of pandemic resurgence while vaccine is the most effective tool and plays a strategic significance in the COVID-19 fight.
The Government leader asked for early administrating the booster shots and the fourth shots of COVID-19 vaccines for people aged over 18 and speeding up the inoculation of the third shots for adolescences aged 12-18 in line with the instructions of the Ministry of Health.
According to the Ministry of Health, as of July 25, Viet Nam documented 10,768,844 COVID-19 infection cases, ranking 12th among 227 nations and territories and ranking 112th in terms of the number of cases per one million population.
The nation's COVID-19 death toll reached 43,092 or 0.4 percent of the national caseload.
