Pham hailed WB's assistance and active contributions to Viet Nam's socio-economic development since 1993 via policy consultation and financial assistance .

The Prime Minister called on the World Bank to support Viet Nam in key projects such as the North-South high-speed railway, renewable energy, smart agriculture, low-carbon emission, digital transformation, and climate change adaptation in the Mekong Delta.

He agreed with the need to establish a joint working group to review regulations and procedures with a view to simplifying and streamlining processes between the two sides, removing bottlenecks, reducing implementation time, and improving the efficiency of projects.

He said that he has assigned Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang to give the directions for tackling obstacles, and promoting the implementation of projects and disbursement of the WB's capital.

Carolyn Turk, for her side, spoke highly of Viet Nam's visions, development orientations and commitments, particularly in fields of climate change response, and emission reduction.

She suggested Viet Nam should pay due attention to such issues as ensuring energy security, exploring the potential of carbon trading, boosting digital transformation, and adapting to climate change in the Mekong Delta.

If the implementation of a program to develop one million ha of low-carbon high-quality rice is successful, Viet Nam could become a leading country in this field, she noted.

She vowed to work together with Vietnamese agencies in removing difficulties for large-scale projects and accompany Viet Nam in its socio-development process./.
