The Party leader made the above statement while talking with participants of a training course for officials who are potential to become official members of 14th Party Central Committee, in Ha Noi on October 31.

Viet Nam targets to become a developing country with modern industry and high middle-income by the end of this decade when the country will celebrate the 100th founding anniversary of the Communist Party.

Nearly 40 years since the introduction of reform process, Viet Nam has emerged from a poor and backward country to become a low middle-income country, deeply and widely integrating into the world politics, global economy, and the human civilization, To emphasized.

The country has taken on many important international responsibilities and promoted its active role in various important international organizations and multilateral forums, he said.

The Vietnamese economy increased by 96 times between 1986 and 2023. Viet Nam has been among 40 leading economies and among 20 economies in terms of trade and investment attraction.

To date, Viet Nam has set up diplomatic relations with all 193 member countries of the United Nations, established partnerships, strategic partnerships, and comprehensive strategic partnerships with all major powers in the region and the world.

The living standards of Vietnamese people have significantly improved, with a marked reduction in the poverty rate. Viet Nam has achieved its Millennium Development Goals ahead of schedule.

To emphasized that the time between now and 2030 is a strategic period for Viet Nam to achieve the aforesaid targets.

From that perspective, General Secretary To Lam stressed the need to reform the Party leadership, including streamlining the Party organs and State apparatus while promoting digital transformation, combating wastefulness.
