Foreign Minister meets South Korea’s Prime Minister

Prime Minister Han reiterated that the South Korean Government attaches importance to the relationship with Viet Nam, considering the Southeast Asian nation as a key partner in its foreign policy towards the region.

He underlined the need to maintain high-ranking meetings and contacts, effectively implement cooperation mechanisms and dialogues, and promote economic cooperation in a practical manner.

The host urged both sides to push for stronger cooperation in such areas like culture, education, tourism, labor and people-to-people exchanges, and to continue joining hands to address international and regional issues of common concerns.

Bui, for his part, affirmed that the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue the close coordination with its Korean counterpart and other competent agencies of the two countries to beef up the bilateral relations in a more substantive and comprehensive fashion and in the spirit of the agreement reached by their senior leaders, focusing on the implementation of the action program to realize the comprehensive strategic partnership.

He took the occasion to express thanks to South Korea for its active cooperation with Viet Nam as well as its assistance for Viet Nam to fulfill its role as coordinator for the ASEAN-Korea relations for 2021-2024.

Bui expressed his hope that South Korea will continue supporting and sharing experience with Viet Nam in organizing the Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 (P4G) summit Viet Nam will host in 2025.

He called on South Korea continue advocating the principled stance of Viet Nam and ASEAN on the East Sea issue, asserting that Viet Nam always keeps a close watch on, backs and stands ready to contribute to the process of denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula./.
