The DPPA mechanism enables direct electricity transactions between renewable energy generators and large electricity consumers.
This mechanism helps expand access to "green electricity" for large power consumers, promotes transparent electricity trading, and lays the groundwork for the development of the retail electricity market in accordance with the established roadmap.
Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics Viet Nam Thai Nguyen (SEVT) has become the first corporate customer in Viet Nam to purchase renewable electricity through the DPPA mechanism.
Under this DPPA contract, SEVT is expected to secure approximately 70 GWh of solar power annually, equivalent to the amount of electricity consumed by around 17,000 households.
In addition, the project is expected to help reduce carbon emissions by approximately 46,000 tons of CO₂ per year, contributing to Viet Nam's green energy transition and sustainable development goals./.
