The Deputy Foreign Minister made the above statement during an interview with reporters prior Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's tour to Poland, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland from January 15 to 23.

The tour presents a critical opportunity to advance cooperation with the three countries as well as Central and Eastern Europe, and the European Union (EU).

It will reinforce Viet Nam's role as a bridge linking Poland and the Czech Republic with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), and promote joint efforts to address regional and global challenges, contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and sustainable development in each region and worldwide.

The tour coincides with the 75th anniversary of Viet Nam's diplomatic ties with Poland and the Czech Republic (February 1950 - 2025). As traditional friends, these two countries have consistently supported Viet Nam throughout its struggle for national independence and reunification in the past as well as the current national development cause.

Specific agendas

During his official visitsto Poland and the Czech Republic, Pham and his Polish and Czech leaders are expected to review the fruitful 75-year collaboration, chart strategic orientations, and invigorate Viet Nam's traditional friendship and multifaceted partnerships with these countries, according to Nguyen.

The leaders will seek measures to strengthen political trust and strategic cooperation, promote cooperation in traditional fields such as trade, investment, labor, education and training, culture, and tourism, while injecting momentum for cooperation in critical and potential areas like defense, security, innovation, information technology, digital transformation, green transition, renewable energy, and transport connectivity.

In Switzerland - an important member of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), Pham will discuss with Swiss leaders on how to intensify political trust and to tap into the countries' strengths and potentials in order generate tangible benefits for both sides, especially in finance, construction of an international financial center in Viet Nam, technology, and innovation.

Pham's participation in the 55th WEF Annual Meeting in Davos, themed Collaboration for the Intelligent Age, will provide Viet Nam a good chance to disseminate Viet Nam's development priorities and opportunities amid profound global changes.

He will convey messages about Viet Nam's determination, aspiration, and vision to achieve strategic goals for the next two decades.

In-depth sharing from over 3,000 global leaders, international organizations and business giants at the meeting are expected to help Viet Nam catch up with development trends in order to build mechanisms, policies, and measures to seize opportunities and minimise adverse impacts of emerging trends./.
