Border guards of Viet Nam, China hold joint patrol

VGP - The border guards stationed in the northern mountainous province of Dien Bien and their counterparts in Mengzhi region, China’s Yunnan province, conducted a joint patrol along the section from Marker No 1 to Marker No. 3 along the shared borderline on March 30.

They found that the national border markers remain intact, the border safety is secured, and residents on both sides comply with legal documents on the land border signed between the two countries. The patrol process ensures absolute safety in all aspects.

Additionally, the border guard forces exchanged information on border security situations. The bilateral patrol ended at 11 a.m. the same day.

The joint border patrol was carried out under the cooperation agreement between the two defence ministries, initiated on November 12, 2017, to enhance cooperation in border management and protection.

The patrol activity aims to strengthen the cooperative relationship in border management and protection between the Border Guard Command of Dien Bien province, Viet Nam and the Border Guard of Mengzhi region, China./.
