Agro-forestry-aquatic exports surge over 17% in Jan-Feb period

VGP - Viet Nam gained US$11.3 billion from exporting agro-aquatic-forestry products in the first two months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 17.1 percent, reported the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.

In the reviewed period, agricultural products brought home US$6.09 billion, forestry products US$2.82 billion, and aquatic products US$1.76 billion and livestock products US$140.7 million, up 17.1 percent, 7.4 percent, 23.3 percent, and 84.3 percent, respectively.

By region, Asia remained the largest export market for Viet Nam's farm produce, accounting for 45.5 percent of total market share. The Americas, Europe, Africa and Oceania followed with 21 percent, 15.7 percent, 2.2 percent and 1.4 percent, respectively.

The U.S., China, and Japan remained the largest importers of Vietnamese agro-forestry-aquatic products, respectively up 9.2 percent, 55.9 percent, and 9.8 percent against the same period last year./.
