Agro-forestry-fishery export turnover may hit US$70 billion in 2025

VGP - Export value of agro-forestry-fishery products is likely to reach a record high of US$70 billion in 2025, said Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Phung Duc Tien.

Viet Nam earned US$58.14 billion from exporting agro-forestry-fishery products in the first ten months of this year.  In October alone, the sector's export turnover was estimated at US$5.96 billion, up 6.3 percent year-on-year.

Specifically, agricultural exports brought in US$31.34 billion in the January–October period, a 15.5 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

China was the largest importer of Vietnamese agro-forestry-fishery products, accounting for 21.4 percent of the total export value, followed by the U.S. with 20.4 percent and Japan with 7 percent.

Viet Nam is on track to exceed the preset target of US$65–75 billion in export turnover in 2025, possibly achieving a record US$70 billion if the current growth momentum continues through the remaining two months of the year.

Last year, the combined export value of agricultural, forestry and fishery products surpassed US$62 billion, a year-on-year increase of 18 percent./.
