Prime Minister works with Viet Nam’s Permanent Delegation to UN
VGP - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited the Viet Nam’s Permanent Delegation to United Nations on May 15 (local time) in New York during his ongoing tour to the U.S. for the special ASEAN-U.S. Summit.
Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, the Head of the Permanent Delegation of Viet Nam to the UN briefed the Prime Minister of the body’s major achievements in the relations between Viet Nam and the UN over the past 45 years since Viet Nam joined the UN in 1977.
Ambassador Dang affirmed that as a positive and active member of the UN, Viet Nam shared various good experiences with other countries.
The Prime Minister suggested diplomats of the delegation need to grasp thoroughly bilateral issues, global issues including disease prevention, natural resource depletion, aging population, and climate change. These issues require global approach and upholding of multilateralism in which the UN plays the most important role.
Diplomats must firmly grasp and concretize the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, for peace, friendship, cooperation and development, and multilaterali
