Despite efforts, pollution levels continue to rise, particularly in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City, posing significant risks to public health and economic development.

The primary sources of pollution are emissions from transport, construction, industrial activities, and agriculture, all of which contribute large amounts of pollutants. These emissions are not effectively controlled and the enforcement of environmental regulations remains inconsistent.

The Government also chief tasked the ministry to make breakthroughs in multimodal transportation development to lower logistics costs and increase the competitiveness of Vietnamese products and goods.

The ministry needs to put foward mechanisms and policies to mobilize resources and to promote public-private partnership for transport projects.

The Government is resolved to increase the length of expressways to 3,000km by the end of this year and 5,000km by 2030./.
