The trip will be made at the invitation of the Governents of Turkey and the UAE, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The relations between Viet Nam and Turkey have grown remarkablly over the past 45 years.

The year 2017 marked a historic milestone in the two countries' relations as two-way trade hit US$3.2 billion, making Viet Nam the second largest trading partner of Turkey in ASEAN after Malaysia.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, trade exchanges between the two countries dipped to US$1.65 billion in 2022. However, it remains a bright spot in the bilateral ties.

Data from Viet Nam's General Department of Customs shows that in the first four months of 2023, Viet Nam's exports to Turkey had reached US$642.34 million, a year-on-year increase of 29.7 per cent.

Viet Nam's participation at the upcoming COP indicates the country's commitment to join the global community's fight against climate change.

*Previously, at the COP26, Viet Nam committed to achieve net-zero emissions by the middle of the century, joining the pledge to reduce global methane emissions in 2030, compared to 2010.

The Southeast Asian country also joined the Glasgow leaders' declaration on forests and land use, and the Global Coal to Clean Power Transition Statement.

Viet Nam's strong commitments and responsible contributions, have been highly praised by the international community, opening new cooperation opportunities in low-emission growth, promoting the circular economy and adapting to climate change.

This year marks the 30th founding anniversary of Viet Nam-UAE diplomatic relations. Economic cooperation has always been a crucial pillar and bright spot in the bilateral ties.

The UAE is the largest trading partner of Viet Nam in the Middle East–North Africa region. It is also the seventh biggest importer of Vietnamese goods.

In 2022, Viet Nam's export turnover to the UAE increased 27.5 times compared to that in 2006. The country now is the UAE's biggest trade partner in Southeast Asia.

At present, there are about 3,500 Vietnamese laborers working in the UAE./.
