Prime Minister starts official visit to Netherlands
VGP – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh just arrived at the Schiphol International Airport in Amsterdam, starting his official visit to the Netherlands at the invitation of his Dutch counterpart Mark Rutte.
During the visit, Pham is expected to meet with leaders of the Netherlands' executive and legislative branches, attend the Viet Nam-Netherlands Business Forum, and witness the signing of cooperation deals between the two countries.
The visit aims to further consolidate and deepen the Viet Nam-Netherlands comprehensive partnership, particularly in such fields of the Netherlands' strength and Viet Nam's demand, as circular economy, renewable energy, and climate change.
The Viet Nam-Netherlands relationship is advacing robustly across fields, especially investment, trade, agriculture, and climate change.
The Netherlands is Viet Nam's second biggest trade partner in Europe, with the two-way trade estimated to increase by nearly 10 percent to US$8.37 billion in 2021, and US$8.2 billion in January-September period this year, up 36 percent from 2021.
The European country currently has 380 active projects in Viet Nam with total registered capital of US$13.5 billion.
Within the strategic partnership framework on climate change and sustainable agriculture, both countries have teamed up in implementing a number of medium and long-term projects and programs.
The Netherlands have shared one million doses of COVID-19 vaccines and medical equipment worth VND43 billion to help the Southeast Asian nation contain the COVID-19 pandemic./.
