Prime Minister receives Palestinian Minister of the Interior
VGP - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Monday hosted a reception for Palestinian Minister of the Interior Ziad Hab Al-Reeh who is on a working visit to Viet Nam.
The Prime Minister spoke highly of the contribution of the Palestinian Minister in boosting Viet Nam-Palestine relations, including security cooperation, thus promoting mutual understanding and relations in a more intensive, substantive and effective manner.
After 35 years of establishing diplomatic ties, the two nations' relationship have witnessed positive achievements across the sectors of politics-diplomacy, economics, culture, education-training and security-defense.
The Prime Minister reiterated Viet Nam's consistent stance to support justice and peace, and to support dialogue and peaceful settlement of conflicts.
He expected that the two nations will work together to uphold the role, prestige and status of each side and enhance mutual support within the frameworks of bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
Pham asked both sides to successfully organize activities to celebrate the 35th founding anniversary of diplomatic ties, strengthen delegation exchanges and foster collaboration in field of education, including teaching Arab and Vietnamese.
He urged the Palestinian Ministry of Interior and Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security to promote coordination; enhance information exchanges; coordinate the handling of transnational crimes; and ensure security and safety for the representative mission and citizens in each territory.
Pham required both sides to support training and capacity building of law enforcement, contributing to boosting the bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
Regarding international and regional issues of common concerns, both sides pledged to advocate each other at international forums where they have joined and back the principled stance of ASEAN on the East Sea issue, including guaranteeing safety and freedom of aviation and navigation in the region, addressing disputes via peaceful measures in line with international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea./.
