Prime Minister receives OECD Secretary-General
VGP - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hosted a reception for Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Secretary-General Mathias Cormann in Ha Noi on October 18.
Mathias Cormann is on a working visit to Viet Nam to attend events within the framework of the OECD Southeast Asia Regional Program (SEARP).
The Prime Minister affirmed that Viet Nam attaches importance to the cooperation and policy recommendations of the OECD, willing to provide statistical data for the organization to conduct research, analyze and provide objective and multi-dimensional policy advice.
Pham suggested the OECD continue supporting Viet Nam in human resource training, risk management, macro-economic stabilization, and promotion of economic development driving forces such as consumption, exports, circular economy, digital economy and economic restructuring to help the nation improve its competitiveness.
For his side, the OECD Secretary-General spoke highly of the role and active contributions of Viet Nam in the SEARP.
He congratulated on the achievements in the nation's socio-economic development over the last 30 years, especially its economic rebound achievements in 2022.
The OECD commits to assisting Viet Nam in realizing development goals and joining hands with the Southeast Asian country in reviving and reforming economy towards green and sustainable development, said Mathias Cormann.
The organization will closely coordinate with Viet Nam to successfully co-chair the SEARP for the 2022-2025 tenure and launch the Action Plan on the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding during 2022-2026, he reiterated.
